Overview

AssessBook is the new Learning Management System to be utilised by Northern Railway. As part of this update, all current enrolments and completions will be maintained, as well as the wealth of resources/content.

The below guide is designed to signpost the key areas of the site you will need to use in order to continue accessing your learning.

On this page:

Dashboard

When first logging into AssessBook, you will be taken to your Dashboard, the central hub from which you can access your learning, find additional courses, and view your profile.

There are 5 areas on your Dashboard that you will commonly use:

1 – Main Menu
2 – Breadcrumbs
3 – Homepage, Messages and Notifications
4 – Learning Block
5 – Profile Block

Main Menu

The Main Menu provides quick links to other pages within the site.

The first of these, Dashboard, will take you to your Dashboard from any page within the system.

The second of these, Record of Learning, will take you to a page in which all of your course enrolments are listed as well as your progress on each of the courses. This will also be displayed on the Dashboard on the Learning Block:

The third of these, Find Learning, will take you to the course catalogue in which all courses, programs and certifications available for enrolment can be viewed and accessed:

Breadcrumbs

The Breadcrumbs can be utilised to take you back to another page previously accessed.

Homepage, Messages and Notifications

The home icon can be used to return the user to the Dashboard in the same way as the Dashboard main menu option.

The envelope icon can be used to access your internal messages.

The bell icon can be used to access any notifications you may have been sent. These can be in relation to courses/tasks being overdue or having completed learning.

Learning Block

The Learning Block displays all your learning whether it be in progress or complete. Your progress on each of the courses will also be displayed here. You can resume any of the courses you are already enrolled on by using the ‘Resume’ button which will display next to the course name.

You can also use the ‘View Record of Learning’ button to see the report for all courses.

Profile Block

The Profile Block can be used to view your profile as well as the number of courses you have completed. By selecting ‘View Profile’, you will be taken to your profile page, in which you can edit your details, adjust your preferences or access your Record of Learning and Learning Plans (if relevant).
