Introduction

An audience is a collection of people/candidates. It is somewhat like a team, but has no concept of a leader i.e. it is a completely flat structure, and it can be set up either statically or dynamically.   

Audiences are necessary for a range of modules including Forms, Check and Bulletin. Audiences define who receives a specific Bulletin, who can create and assign Forms, and who a Check can be performed against. These can be created once and reused again.

Glossary

Static Audience: an audience with a set list of members.

Dynamic Audience: an audience with a dynamic list of members based on a set of pre-defined rules.

Audience Categories

It is possible to group audiences into folders called Parent Categories. To use these, a new Audience Category must be created - Menu → Audience → Audience Category → Audience Category Admin → 'Add' 

Once a new category has been added, it will appear as a Parent Category dropdown option when creating new Audiences. 


Types of Audiences

There are two types of audiences on ACMS:

  1. Static - audience members are added manually to a static audience. A Static Audience will not change nor update unless edited by a user
  2. Dynamic - audience members are added based on whether they meet a set of rules.  A Dynamic Audience will update automatically as users are added/removed for rulesets.

Did you know?

 A new check has been put in place so that the audience property takes into account whether the module requires audience members to be users.


FAQs

Why can't I see a person in the list of people to assign to an audience?

Only people with user access and active candidate status can be added to an audience.


New members should have been added to a dynamic audience but they are not listed, why is this?

Dynamic audiences are automatically updated every night at midnight but if necessary the audience members can be manually updated by selecting the 'Force Update' button in the Audience admin.
